Research has shown that the literacy attitudes and practices in the home are instrumental in helping children become successful readers. Three informational handouts share these findings with parents and encourage them to enjoy books with their children, visit the library together, and include their kids in their everyday reading and writing activities.

In addition, for your convenience, you will find here the Parent Materials from the Weeks 1, 2 and 3 of the Reading Camps Curriculum. These materials include a Parent Letter that can be distributed when the child enrolls in Reading Camp, and daily handouts that are sent home at the end of each Reading Camp day.

All Parent Materials are available in English and Spanish. Please choose the English or Spanish link to print out the appropriate number of copies for your campers families.
