Alphabet Corn Maze

Introduction

Follow the alphabet path to get to the Little Red Hen.

Materials:


Directions:

  • Have your child follow the alphabet with a pencil all the way to the Little Red Hen by following the alphabet in the correct order.
  • As your child follows the alphabet, have him stop on each letter.
  • Ask him what the name of that letter is. Ask him what sound that letter makes. He can say the name of the letter and/or he can say the sound that each letter makes.

Fill in your own corn maze:
  • Use the blank corn maze worksheet to make your own corn maze.
  • Have your child write other themed words. They can be names of foods or your child�s favorite subject in school.
  • Have your child draw an object or a person in the box that you have to get to.

Make your own corn maze
  • Your child can make his own corn maze using a plain piece of paper, a ruler and a pencil.

Alphabet maze:
  • Cut out with scissors (adults only) the alphabet from the Alphabet Clues activity worksheet
  • for your child to use. Take something from around your house like a stuffed animal or a picture of you and your child and hide it somewhere. lace the cut-out Alphabet letters in alphabetical order on the floor to make a maze that leads to the hidden object. Have your child start at the letter A and follow the letters until he reaches the letter Z. Your child can sing the Alpha Pig ABC song as he walks or for a greater challenge have your child sound out each letter as he walks on it.

Talk about it:

  • Little Red Hen needed to find corn to make corn bread so she went to a corn field. Where do you go when you need to buy corn or other food? Talk to your child about the different places you go to get food.
