Afterschool Activities: Give Me A Home
In "Give Me A Home," kids investigate how different animals–from the mountains right to their own backyard–meet their needs for food, water, and shelter. These activities include a PLUM LANDING animation and a related hands-on activity with several extension ideas, providing approximately one hour of programming.
Start out by having kids watch A Peek at the Peak, a short animated video about the different habitats on a mountain. Then, do the related hands-on activity Habitat Sweet Habitat. If time permits, wrap up your day by completing the "Explore Some More" activity listed at the end of Habitat Sweet Habitat.
