Educator-Led Family Activities: Getting Closer
In “Getting Closer,” families explore how animals adjust to living in city spaces they share with people. These activities include a PLUM LANDING animation and a related hands-on activity, both with extension ideas, providing about one hour of programming.
Start by having families watch The Haunted Shipyard Mystery, a short video about a mysterious flying creature that shrieks. (Gather around a laptop or tablet, or arrange to view the video on a larger screen.) Then, head outdoors to get closer to nature—if the animals let you—with the hands-on activity Animals Among Us. If time permits, wrap up your day by completing one or more of the “Explore Some More” activities.
