Afterschool Activities: Chirp, Honk, Woof!
In "Chirp, Honk, Woof!," kids explore sounds in the environment and learn about some of the ways in which animals communicate. These activities include a PLUM LANDING animation and a related hands-on activity with several extension ideas, providing approximately one hour of programming.
Start out by having kids watch What’s That Sound?!!, a short animated video about some of the sounds of rainforest in Borneo. Talk about the associated "Conversation Starters," then head outdoors for the related activity Sound Safari. If time permits, wrap up your day by completing one or more of the "Explore Some More" activities listed with both.
