Afterschool Activities: Can You See Me Now?
In “Can You See Me Now?” kids explore how animals blend into their surroundings using camouflage. These activities include a PLUM LANDING animation and a related hands-on activity, both with extension ideas, to provide about one hour of programming.
Start by having kids watch The Brick-Eating Ivy Mystery, a short video about animals using plants for shelter and camouflage. Then, head outdoors for a hands-on camouflage activity called Hiding in Plain Sight. If time permits, wrap up your day by completing one or more of the “Explore Some More” activities or play the Creature Connector game, in which kids solve ecosystem puzzles to help animals and plants get what they need to survive.
